Through technology, we have created a certain standard of living that involves many new and different ways to manage and control our environments. Yet those same “comforts” may be coming back to bite us a little bit.

Recent studies show that humans are losing certain “functionality” of our bodily systems due to not having the same exposure to certain stresses - heat, fasting (minus food), HIIT (high intensity interval training), breath holding and exposure to cold.

There are certain adaptations that the body makes on a cellular level in order to adjust to the cold. Now science is helping us understand what exactly does occur when we are exposed to certain stresses and especially cold.

Cold training helped me reconnect with my own body.
